Dr. Iain Konigsberg is a computational and statistical geneticist whose work focuses on developing predictive models of complex diseases through the integration of large-scale genetic and multi-omic data. He is a Research Scientist in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at the University of Colorado – Anschutz Medical Campus, where he also earned his PhD in Human Medical Genetics & Genomics. His research centers on chronic respiratory diseases, including Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), and extends to cardiovascular and metabolic conditions. Dr. Konigsberg is an active contributor to several NIH-funded research consortia, including the Trans-Omics for Precision Medicine (TOPMed) Initiative, where he was named a 2023 Fellow, the Polygenic Risk Methods in Diverse Populations (PRIMED) Consortium, and Definition, Etiology, Function: INtegration to Enhance Type 2 Diabetes (DEFINE-T2D). He also serves as Chair of the Population Descriptors, Social, and Ethical Implications (POPSEI) Working Group within PRIMED, promoting responsible and inclusive approaches to genetic research.
